  • June 9: Lighthouse Cruise to benefit the Plum Island Lighthouse (THIS EVENT IS FILLED. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!)

  • June 23-26: Bus and Boat trip to see Maine Lighthouses. (Now accepting reservations)

  • July 28 - Public meeting at the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville.

  • August 11: Fundraiser at the Plum Island Lighthouse. (Now accepting reservations)

  • September 29: Second Annual Beacons of the Night Sunset/Moonlight/Lighthouse cruise. Reservations accepted in August.

What We Do:

  • We assist, in every possible way, the restoration and preservation of Long Island's lighthouses, and work to make these historic lighthouses available to the public.

  • We research the history of Long Island's lighthouses, lightships, and related aids to navigation.

  • We help concerned parties get involved with local restoration groups.

  • We serve as the means of communication between all who care about the preservation of these unique symbols of our maritime heritage.

  • We inform and entertain those interested in the past, present and future of Long Island's lighthouses by conducting special events, such as lectures, cruises, and tours.

  • We maintain and constantly update a comprehensive research library and photographic archive containing material relating to Long Island's lighthouses, lightships, and navigational aids, and make these resources available to the public.

  • We raise funds for local preservation efforts, such as the restoration, relighting and preservation of the endangered Plum Island lighthouse.
